Rotary Club of Iganga Hands Over Essential Newborn Care Equipment to Busesa Health Centre IV

On 23 July 2026, the Rotary Club of Iganga handed over essential newborn care equipment to Busesa Health Centre IV. The activity formed part of the club’s continued commitment to improving maternal and child health services within the community.
The equipment was supplied by NICOSAM Health Care through a broader maternal and newborn health initiative supported by Rotary Districts 9213 and 9214, in collaboration with Uganda’s Ministry of Health. The national initiative aims to strengthen emergency obstetric and newborn care services in public health facilities by providing essential medical equipment.
The equipment will strengthen the capacity of health workers at Busesa Health Centre IV to provide timely and appropriate care to newborn babies, particularly those who require immediate support after delivery. It will also contribute to safer deliveries and improved health outcomes for mothers and their babies.
This intervention reflects Rotary’s area of focus on saving mothers and children and demonstrates the importance of partnerships between Rotary, government institutions, healthcare providers and private-sector partners.
The Rotary Club of Iganga appreciates Rotary Districts 9213 and 9214, the Ministry of Health, NICOSAM Health Care, the leadership and health workers of Busesa Health Centre IV, and everyone who contributed to the successful implementation of this activity.
Through initiatives such as this, the Rotary Club of Iganga continues to create lasting change by supporting stronger health systems and improving access to quality healthcare for mothers, newborn babies and families.
