Dr. Kharim Mwebaza Muluya
President

Dr. Muluya Mwebaza Kharim, President of the Rotary Club of Iganga, is a dedicated public health expert specializing in Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child, and Adolescent Health (RMNCAH). With a PhD in Public Health from Kenyatta University and extensive experience in health services management, he mentors health workers, conducts research, and develops health curricula. Passionate about improving healthcare access, he actively engages in community education and advocacy. His leadership in Rotary emphasizes impactful service, fostering sustainable health and environmental initiatives. Dr. Kharim’s commitment to knowledge-sharing and community development continues to transform lives and strengthen healthcare systems in Uganda.

The Rotary Club of Iganga was established in early 1988 and officially chartered on August 2, 1988. The club's first president was the late Rotarian Kiwanuka Lubanga, whose leadership laid a strong foundation for the club's future endeavors. Initially, members gathered for fellowship at Mwana Highway Hotel, fostering camaraderie and planning community service initiatives. Over time, the club transitioned its meetings to Ntinda Valley Resort Hotel, where members continue to convene every Tuesday from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
